How to Upgrade to M500 with Orange...

I've been waiting patiently for the m500 to come out having had my MPX200 for 18 months now, and when it finally does come out Orange won't let me upgrade on there website...and even on new contracts they want up to £99 for it.

So here was how I got mine ordered today:

1. Emailed Cust. Services at Orange with a deal off another orange resellers website.

2. Emailed them 24hrs later saying what’s happening, got a reply within the hour saying details had been forwarded to "Upgrades" who will contact you shortly.

3. Emailed them 2 days later saying Upgrades hadn't phoned me and WHAT was going on!

4. Next day (today) "Upgrades" phoned me, offering me the phone for free!.........on an 18 month contract!!!..I say "no way", they say it has to be 18month, I said I only want it on a 12month contract, they say that will be £99 then. I say "Right I've had enough, been a customer for 10 years and I'm leaving, put me through to disconnections and get me my PAC(???) number!" she asks me to hold.

5. She comes back on and says she's putting me through to someone in the "Retentions Dept"(?!?). Nice chap comes on and says he can only make me one offer...12 months contract for £49.99, so I say "Is that it!" he says "yes", so I say "Give me a text message bundle then" (expecting 30) He says "okay you can have 60 text messages a month in your bundle"

I pay £30 a month for 200mins and he chucks in £48 (£4x12months) of free text messages for the contract.

I say, "Oh go on then.." Deal done...phone on the way :)

So don't let them fob you off with 18 month contracts!!

Our contracts are all 24 months over here :)

Well This how I got mine ( or at least it arrives tommorrow :)

1. After being in my current contract of 8 months I called existing cutomer help line (343)

asked if I could upgrade to the C550, "YES they replied but with a price tag of £75"

So I said thanks thenks and hung up.

2. Rang again the following evening and got quoted £85..Said thanks and hung up.

3.Rang again and was quoted this time £139 so I said thanks and could a note be put on my account regarding the upgrade fee.

4. Caled Retentions and complained about the service and the lack of consistency acquired by thier upgrades staff. Got sent out the C550 free next day starting a new 12mnth contract. :D £30 fro 200 mins and 500 texts ( Exlusive you choose plan , available on the website)

5. Gave the C550 my best shot but just come to terms tat everything was %75 of screen fill on the device. So i called after 2days and got a returns bag sent out..

6. 5days later no retrun bag so I called retentions and told them I wasnt interested in staying with them for much longer as there service is going down hill,so they asked which phone I would like to upgrade to when my C550 got back to them and I asked politly for the M500 and she said yes :D as long as I stick on the Exclusive you choose plan. So I haggeld for a GPRS bundle and picture message bundle and got 18MB and 15 pics a motnh thrown in :lol:.

ALL FOR £30 and 12mtnh Contract :lol:
