Guest MPXtricky Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Hi folks. It's a very long time since I hung out here and it's all changed..... anyway, my latest Orange invoice came through. They had stopped my inclusive free texts and stung me for an extra £25 for last months SMS usage, so I phoned them up. Well, it's amazing what asking for a PAC can do! - I got 500 SMS per month reinstated *indefinitely*, and the chance to upgrade my phone so I was just wondering what is the best phone to have these days? I looked at the Motorola A1000 - very nice, but only available in the UK on the dodgy "3" network. The Sony Ericsson K750i looks nice too, but I reckon I'd miss the fun I used to have sticking games and stuff on my unlocked MPX200. Mobile phones have moved on so much now, what with 2 and 3 megapixel cameras, video, FM radio, bluetooth etc. Decisions, decisions - any advice for an old fella who's been out of the picture too long? Thanks
Guest Pondrew Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Welcome back lad. I'd recommend either the SPV C550 or the SPV M500 but you could argue I'm biased in favour of Windows Mobile products! :)
Guest MPXtricky Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Thanks man. Of all the people that read my question, I'm glad one had an opinion ;) Welcome back lad. Guest martin Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 The SPV C550 of course :) It will take a little time for the QVGA compatible software to appear but I reckon it will be worth the wait.
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 M500/C550, i'm all for small PPCs now, so I say m500!
Guest poulidis Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 I am not very familiar with other windows based smartphones, but I own an mpx220, and it is by far the bestest phone I have ever had. Now if you don't want to buy a windows based phone, I think that the k750i is the best choice.
Guest Confucious Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Got top agree with the others but it depends if you want a PDA wth phone functions (M500) or ohone with PDA functions (C550). Personally I have a C550 but the choice is yours. Of course, posting in a windows mobile specific forum I'm sure none of us are in any way biased... :)

M500 is as a small as a phone with superb functionality....
