Web surfing and vanishing IE

browser just disappears and I am dumped back to my Today screen, whats that about?

Using M500, happens whether i am connected through my laptop (activesynced) or through GPRS.

If you were on a PC, I would say you had a virus or spyware, but thats odd on a PPC. I have never encountered this problem on my Mini. Maybe its a bug in the M500 version ROM?

Yeah its strange, as soon as i try to pull up a web page it closes the browser. Totally unusable. How do I get the devices settings back to default, as perhaps I have changed something I shouldnt when trying to get bluetooth to work?

Make sure you've backed up all your data first - including Contacts, Calendar etc with Outlook :)

Then press & hold the power button and stick the stylus in the reset button-hole on the right of the headphone socket on the device's bottom.

That's how to hard reset.

Hi,

I experienced exactly the same thing today. I was wanting to do a quick search on Yell.com and when I typed it in using the on screen keyboard and hit the go key my MDA Compact started to load the page and then crashed back to the today screen.

I tried a soft reset and same thing happened. Now this is when it gets strange, I can select a favourite and it goes to that page fine. I tried entering another site (BT.com) using the keyboard and it worked fine.

I tried clearing all the caches and it still crashes trying load Yell.com but all other sites work. WEIRD!!

I use ONSPEED so I don't know if that may be does not like Yell.com for some reason.

I had to do a hard reset on mine, which seemed to cure it.
