File Name :: Carbon Ferrari v1.1

Author :: Scar45

Category :: Cars/Other

Update :: A minor update has been made to the .cab installer which corrects the problem of the InCall banner not being set correctly for this theme and the Blueness one. Both themes have now been updated to 1.1 and 1.6 respectively. Please uninstall the old versions before installing this newer one.

Description :: This is my second theme overall (check out my first one here, :: Blueness feat. Anetta Keys v1.5 :: ) and I have designed it using a carbon fibre pattern and a red theme to match those beautiful machines known as Ferrari's. SmartMonitor bars should get automatically installed, and the system screens are renamed from default meaning that you can use gambit's new Theme Changer v4.1 to quickly switch every part of this theme. I really love Ferrari and this is how I can share my passion. I hope everyone enjoys...

In terms of the theme itself, it is composed of:

1) Homescreen Layout

- REQUIRES SmartMonitor plugin (found here: SmartMonitor Homepage)

- REQUIRES Oxios Today plugin (found here: Oxios Today (FREE) Plugin Homepage)

- [Profile]

- Network/Carrier

- Date/Time/MSGs

- MRU (with description)

2) Missed Calls Screen

3) Start Menu Background

4) Extra Screens (Vol/alert/Info)

5) Dial/InCall Banner

6) Startup/Shutdown Screens

7) Colour Theme

8) Homescreen Background

Simply run the installer (copy .cab to phone and run, or if you have an explorer extension (Homescreen Designer), right click and "Install Homescreen/CAB on device".

Please note that this theme has only been tested on Smartphone 2003, but I believe it will work on 2002 as well. This is the first public release, so if there are any issues/suggestions, PLEASE post them here.

*NOTE* Some people have reported that when UNinstalling a Homescreen/Theme, they lose their Extra Screens/Vol. Control, (i.e. no graphics for those dialogs) BUT by installing the "Home_Restore.cab" provided by midnight, the default screens will be restored. That can be found here:

Home_Restore.cab

Uninstalling (as if you would actually want to  ;) ) should work flawlessly, and restore your phone to the theme right before you installed this one.

PLEASE leave feedback for this theme if you can guys, I work really hard on the themes I make, and it is reward enough to hear that you guys use em and like them.

nJoy!! :)

Hey man, thanks so much for the kind words :) I put a lot of effort into this theme and its nice to hear good feedback! In terms of your BT icon, I wish I could test, however I'm using an MPx200, so I therefore have no BT. What you could do however (im thinking) is to simply press "UP" a few times so that the SmartMonitor plugin is selected, then click the "ACTION" button so that it brings you to the SmartMonitor About screen. Above this you should see the normal status bar, and (hopefully) a BT icon which will tell you if its on or not.

Hope this helps man...I have no way to test, so maybe you could let me know how you made out.

I've been using both of your homescreens and I have to admit ... I love them! You can tell that you've put alot of effort into developing them. So Thanks!

One comment. I often switch between the Blueness and Carbon Homescreens (since Blueness doesn't lend itself well to the workplace) and I noticed that when I use the start menu, I still have the blue Anetta Keyes image in the background. I assume that isn't way it is supposed to work. Any ideas? I had similar problems with other homescreens but it usually remedied itself after I restarted the phone. Not so in this case.

In any case, great work. I can't wait to see your next one!

And for the record, any screen but the homescreen shows the BT icon (and any other icons you would normally see at the top of the screen).

Hey BigSwirv, thanks a lot for your kind words as well :) The best thing I like about creating these themes is the feedback I get from the users who use them. I really put so much effort into them so that everyone can enjoy.

Anyways, in regards to your theme switching problem, what you are experiencing is perfectly normal. The remedy for this would be to install the newest ThemeChanger v4.1 by gambit. That can be found here:

ThemeChanger v4.1 Homepage

Please note however, that BEFORE you install the ThemeChanger, please uninstall the versions of my themes that you have, and then RE-download from Modaco (the reason is that I made a MINOR change today that fully completes the themes. They should be at v1.1 for Carbon Ferrari, and v1.6 for Blueness.) Once you have downloaded these themes and have the ThemeChanger ready, install the ThemeChanger FIRST, then install one of the themes, LAUNCH ThemeChanger, and have it save the theme in its own database, THEN install the next theme, run ThemeChanger again and have it add the 2nd theme to its database. This will correct the issue of the screens getting mixed up, and should keep everything proper.

Much respect to gambit for his ThemeChanger program because it changes the theme PROPERLY, taking the extra screens, etc. into consideration. The problem you were having BigSwirv, is that Windows only changes the Homescreen (XML) File and missed calls when you change themes through it's default interface (START --> SETTINGS --> HOME SCREEN), so it will miss any extra screens that my themes contain.

I hope this detailed explaination helps, but always just post messages here if you have any more problems/questions.

Thanks guys!

Trying to install this and I am getting the error "Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have adequate system permissions."

Any ideas???

Really a very nice work :o

The only thing, I can't see the files at File manager, because the ground has not been changed, I also can't see the indicator bar at menus. I have a MPx220 from TIM Brazil.

Is this normal?

Thanks a lot and thanks by the theme.

I installed this theme and love it, only I have this same problem. Will there be an update to this theme or just a simple fix that we should apply?
