SPV and GPS Help!

I have a SPV C500 and a Fuzion GPS device, but cannot get TomTom Mobile 5 to see the GPS device.

I have followed instructions to activate com 7 pair in with the GPS (which appears as Polstar) change the name to TomTom Wireless GPS, but TomTom does not see it. The device I add always dispears when I open TomTom.

Any ideas?

there are lots of posts around to help you.

But you could try:

Deleting all GPS pairings

Add Com port 7 and then pair your gps device, do not change the default name of the device and assuming you are running the correct version of TomTom select the 'other GPS option' and start TomTom and it should find your 3rd party device.

the order is important you must add the com port first I believe.

I have seen a 3rd party gps working with TomTom with no need to setup the com ports / change names etc but this is on the latest firmware from Orange.

The GPS unit works as I tried it on a mates SPV C500. I copied his com ports settings and replicated them on mine, but still no joy. I even tried connecting to my mate TomTom GPS device but without success.

The only difference is the ROM version. Mine has a later ROM installed (by default, newer phone).

I cannot add a com port until I have found the device, but they appear to pair OK.

I even tried a factory reset and set the com ports up again, but no joy..

Any ideas??
