Advice on best way to sync my personal email

My situation until yesterday (before my smartphone :) ):

Yahoo mail with mailplus so that I can use the POP server

Outlook at home downloading mail when I wake up and when I get home from work

Outlook POP settings - Leave a copy of mail on the server. Remove from server when deleted from Deleted items. The point of this is to use Yahoo as a kind of backup in case my laptop ever went walkabout.

I then use Activesync to sync this to the C550 - nice and easy.

Now during the day at work (and at weekends) I want to check my Yahoo mail on my phone. So what I've done is set up an email account on the C550 that checks the Yahoo pop server using the settings 'Last 3 days of email' and 'First 1000 bytes'. I can then hit send and receive and perfect except for 1 issue.....

When it logs onto the server it appears to be going through every single email on the server (i.e. a few hundred) and then downloading only the last 3 days worth - slow and expensive! Is there anyway to get around this? Or any suggestions on how I can better manage my email? One criteria I have is that whatever I've downloaded during the day will still get downloaded to my Outlook inbox when I get home from work. Finally, I know I could use the Yahoo WAP/website to check it but it's a bit more hassle than just hitting 'Send/Receive'.

Hope you can help. It's good fun being a smartphone virgin ;)

Cheers,

Phil
