Guest SO3 Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 The problem is if the mda is in another room, etc, I never get to it in time to answer it! So is it possible to change the number of times the mda rings before it is answered or goes on to answer machine? I am not talking about the handsfree setting which only works with a headset!
Guest pwhooftman2 Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 This is done through this standard GSM code where destination is the number of your voicemail box. retrieve it first using the query command on the last line. No Answer Delay nn seconds: max 30 seconds, in 5 second increments Set: **61*destination*nn#[sEND] Cancel: ##61#[sEND] Query: *#61#[sEND] Look for 'gsm codes' on th einternet for lots of more usefull commands.

Guest RickDawson Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 (edited) type the code in your mobile as if you were typing a normal number... then just get the mobile to dial/call it. Edited July 31, 2005 by RickDawson
Guest MitchellO Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Yeah, this is a setting with your operator, not on the phone itself. Mine rings for ages because I don't have messagebank (voicemail)
Guest rmg Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 heh, I also have voicemail switched off. Most MP3 ringtones are just getting to a good bit after 30 seconds ;-)

Does the GSM 900 (Europe) Band have to be put on, do use these codes? As I can't seem to turn it on!

Try obtaining the voicemailboxno from your operatorsettings somewhere (in your phone settings or from your provider site), & try *#61*0123456789*30# to set the timeout to 30 seconds, where 0123456789 is the number of your voicemailbox. I don't believe a GSM xxx Mhz Band makes a difference, more the extent to which your provider supporst gsm commands.
Guest bill door Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 hmm. When I try that exact code with my mailbox number, I get the reply "invalid parameter" :)

I am on orange uk - hence the command (it seems) should have read **61*07973100123*25# (for 25 secs) it comes back with 'command not supported', whilst the query command does work, and comes back with the number and the delay that is currently set.

Guest inlinesk8a Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 i recommend you to us "White Strips- Blue Orchid" as your mp3 ringtone :-) then you dont have to wait 30seconds to answer the phone and the other person wont put the phone down, so you both win, lol or you can just get a crappy nokia 3310 tone.
Guest beersoft Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 and iirc you cant have it longer than 30 seconds, due to the spec of GSM (and i only have 27 seconds of ringtone to account for the delay in connection and overring) later Owen

Guest coronet Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 (edited) Hi. This works successfully, minus the fact that when I forward my call to my voicemail it says "You cannot leave a voicemail for that number. Sorry". It seems as though I have the wrong number that I reffering it to? Where do I find the number to send the destination to? For Cingular Customers, use this code: **61*destination**nn*nn#[sEND] For some reason, you must enter the wait number twice. I'm not sure why... Edited August 16, 2005 by coronet
