Guest RickDawson Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 I have all my email addresses set up to forward a copy of each mail I recieve, to an @orange.net address. Orange then send a text message with the original sender and the subject. These messages let me know when to check my mail. However it has recently stopped sending me text messages. I hadn't changed anything, but I decided to check everything. Eveything seems to be correct. I finally decided it is specifically the text notification messages not working. I can see that all my messages are getting to the orange email address, by looking at it online. I can still recieve other text messages (that people send me), but not the email notification ones. I even went through turning the notifications off and then on again (using orange's website). Anyone have any ideas?
Guest flyswat Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 I do the same thing with my Orange E-mail account. Just reading your post i have just noticed I have also stopped receiving the SMS message with header info. I had this problem with Orange some time back aswell, there was nothing I could do about it, it started working again in due course without my intervention. Sorry I couldn't be of any help, though at least you know the problem isn't your end.
Guest RickDawson Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Thanks, I have had the problem before, but as you say, it came back working again.
Guest RickDawson Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 (edited) edit:- It double posted for some reason. Edited August 1, 2005 by RickDawson
Guest mutualusing Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 As far as i can gather, once your monthly bill period ends, they stop your email alerts until you pay your off your bill. I could swear it happens every single month.
Guest skanna Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 I have also had this problem recently, but today it started working again. I dont think its got anything to do with the bill. I think Orange may be reconsidering the sms service as I recently got a call from someone in OCS enquiring if I used the service. They asked if I would I stay with orange.net if the service was stopped. I did say that I would move over to another email provider that sent out sms notification when a new mail is received. This is an invaluable service and is the main reason why I have an orange.net account. Also Orange earn revenue everytime I check my mail on my phone, as a result of such a sms notification.
Guest RickDawson Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 came back about 11.15pm yesterday.
