MiPod-sp Media Player Skin The wait is OVER

Well at long last I found the time to sit down and convert my MiPod ( PPC ), skin for Smartphone.

What you must have............

SMT5600 ( C500 ) may be others but I have only the 5600.

Windows Media Player Mobile 10

A Folder path like this \Storage\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\Skins\MiPod-sp

( may work from miniSD but I have yet to test it as I hate reg tweeking)

Download and Unzip the skin place all .gif and the .skn files into MiPod-sp folder.

Fire up Media Player, pick MENU/Options/skins

You may have to arrow back or menu previous, but it will be there.

So with no further hold up..............................................................

It's a nice screen mate. But,there is a problem. When I press the buttons, they dnt change, the whole thing stays the same.

I haven't had time to play with the buttons yet.

I got the basics going and there will be an update in a few days. I just had to get the major part up and running.

So the skinners can start to work their magic as well :)

By now at least 2 others have taken the .skn file and looked inside ;)

Have no fear it will get done, and expect better and more creative skins soon !!!!!!!

I am a mario fanatic !!!!

They will blink their eyes when play, pause and so on are pressed on the keypad. Plus a Star is the track bar.

I can't seem to get it to read my media. It will play but it won't show what I'm listening to or show elapsed time. I downloaded the second file only. Do I need to dl the first one as well? Thanks

Hi very sorry for the slow reply, been away.

The file at the top of the page is the same file at the bottom.

As to why your music is not showing on display........

That would seem like an ID3 issue, Media Player requires info encoded into the MP3, WMA to display.

Media Player skins have no affect on ability to display the information, past turning on or off what information is shown ( i.e. bitrate, title, artist)

Does your music display in Default skin?

If your music does not display in default mode then you need to edit the MP3 or wma ID3 tag

Thanks for the reply Grey. I really don't know if it displays in default mode. I haven't changed anything since I got the phone. I know I have most of MP3's synced with my PC so album art displays.

I have the SMT 5600 and all my music plays fine in the default skin - with artist, etc. - but the miPod skin is just showing the player background (good thing is that the music still plays and the controls all work, just no information displayed - i am sure i am missing something, but not sure what that is. Nice skin though - fun to show it to my friends that have an iPod!

Ok I changed thatand it works now, but the little apple that tracks the elapsed time on the time line isn't there. :cry: Also when I select "stop", the stop button doesn't turn black. I just get a box around it. Other than that this is a pretty cool little skin!

I had to take out the track bar. There is a bug in Smartphone that is not in Pocket PC.

If you show the track bar ( apple along bottom), after 3-4 mins soft buttons lock, power button also locks.

I have no work around for this so I disabled it.

That I know of.....No

Don't ask me why, as I have no clue.

I know the SMT 5600 and C500 will show it, but past versions and the C550 will not show it.
