Guest FragMeister Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Be Aware! I am an O2 UK Payg customer and used the 8080 port so that by magic any GPRS usage somehow failed to reduce my prepay credit. I got a Text Message from O2 a week ago saying that From 1Aug, new charges apply for O2 Active in the UK - brose from just 1p/page I see that I am now being charged for GPRS usage, so I guess my days of clocking up 10mb a day are over!!
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Shame. I wish orange we're that dumb :x It seems like other networks get better deals, whereas orange is straight to the book. Like o2 have PAYG offers all the time, orange have next to none (cheapo 3000 text, fair enough, but weekend and evening...), im really thinking about going to t-mobile if I dont get the m500 free. Smartphones brought me to orange in the first place, and they might just make me leave.

Guest scrattyrat Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Hi - Any chance you could post the settings you use - i used to use the same hack until i managed to reset them somehow and have neen trying unsuccessfully to remember them! its been literally driving me round the bend. Im not bothered if its not free anymore i just want to be able to get the internet back on my phone! please help!! Its really really bugging me and ive tried all settings variations to be found on the forums, whereas you seem to be using an o2 sim working at the moment for GPRS - free or not. I'd just about given up until inoticed your post so you are my only hope.... Cheers! :)
Guest nedge2k Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 Yep he's right. I havent topped up my sim for a while but have still been able to use GPRS/SMS until the other day when the "WAP: Out of credit" message changed to "O2 Active: you need at least 50p on your phone to connect to GPRS". At the time i thought it was just because i hadnt topped up for a couple months (i didnt get the text) but now ive seen this im not happy :) scattyrat: the settings are in the gprs settings repository

From the txt it looks as if they've fixed it.
Guest scrattyrat Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Nedge2k, The settings in the GPRS settings repository do not work, thats why i was hoping FragMeister may be kind enough to post his settings for me as he says they do work. I have tried all the various settings posted on the forum with no success. I have GPRS enabled and did have it working a couple months ago until i accidentally deleted my settings. I had originally got the settings to work from a post someone had made, and had to change some of them, but was foolish enough not to note down what it was i had to change and now cannot reproduce it. Really really frustrating.
