Hello All,

I'm looking for just a few beta testers for CityTime Alarms. I've added support for MP3 and WMA files. This support requires at least Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition or Windows Mobile 5. It should work with all sounds that will play in Windows Mobile 10.

Email me privately at kennyg AT codecity DOT net or message me. I would prefer current CityTime Alarms users.

Thanks,

Kenny

Hi KennyG,

I just sent you an email in order to test your beta version.

I also have 2 questions for you regarding your software :

- Would it be possible to have a homescreen plugin which would show the status of the next alarm ?

- I am facing a small bug when my keyboard is locked and the alarm rings...I can't change the snooze value. In fact I am using the software called AutomaticKeylock, which is very good by the way, but can't seem to get the 2 softwares to work properly together.

Thanks

I have the same problem : sometimes i can change the snooze value and sometimes not.

It seems to appear with "Automatic Keylock" and when i lock manually the keyboard.

Hello All,

I've email or PM'd last friday all who emailed or PM'd me. It took a bit to get the new code "signed" properly for the Smartphone. If you haven't gotten an email or PM, let me know and I'll get you the info.

Thanks,

Kenny.

PS,

I'm looking into the problem with the snooze value not being changable when the keylock is on, please let me know what other software you have installed and which phone/software version you if you don't mind.

I send you an email with my test (I found a bug explained in my email)

For the problem with the snooze value, I tried with a clean install (hard reboot).

It is the same, the snooze value can not be changed if I lock manually the phone.

My phone HTC C500 with Orange ROM 4.2.2.1 Fr with WMP 10.

Hi Kenny! I have installed the new beta on my C550, and it all works nice on the new screen rez - with the minor exception of the icons for recurring & alarm on, which appear just as kind of smudge on the corner of the screen (screenshot below). Apart from that, all the screens, clocks, menus all work good! :) I have set an mp3 ringtone which worked fine. The only thing about that would be (if possible) when an additional sound path is included, those files appear either first or last in the sounds list - to avoid having to scroll through all the sounds to find them. All the alarms I have set, both recurring and individual have worked fine.

I can change the snooze time with the keylock on! So its not a problem on this phone. The only real problem I have encountered was once when I set it to vibrate & ring when I clicked snooze the vibrate did not stop & I had to switch the phone off to stop it! ;) It's not an ongoing problem coz after setting it to ring only - there is no problem. The vibrate on an alarm is pretty long as it is! Its not something I use really - I was just messing about for testing purposes, so its not a problem for me - but it might be good to have a setting for the length of the ... em ... vibrate! :( If thats possible.

Oh, like the wee calendar by the way! Nice touch.

Good job again all round I think! =D>

Hi Kenny,

I Beta tested the original city alarms for the c500 last year and I think it's a great application. I use it all the time for waking up as well as for timers (cooking reminders, pills to take etc...).

I've just got a c550 and though the alarms works fine, it no longer lights up the display on the phone when the alarm goes. I don't know if there are settings on the phone that I've set differently. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Isabelle

Thanks for the reports everyone! I've fixed up the last bits I've found and released version 1.6! The 'smudges' are gone and things should look cleaner in general. It is also Mobile to Market signed! so no more 'untrusted' source.

There are a few items I didn't get to that I will add in upcoming release.

Sorry if I haven't been responsive but I'm not always getting notification when a reply comes in.

Kenny

Any chance this font issue will be resolved? It's still very annoying programs default to the digital font in the \Windows\Font folder since Citytime Alarms put it there. It would be nice if there would be defined another address in CA for the font (like the program directory?)

To un-digitize other programs I deleted the font ZLCD.TTF but also have not digital font in CA anymore.

This issue exists both on WM2003 and WM5.

Are you talking about PPC or Smartphone?

I've worked with Microsoft on this and the problem is with the programs themselves. The programs that pick up the digital font are NOT specifiying a font and that does not mean they will get the default system font. I've added the "Use Digital Font" flag for that reason, if you set this and reset the phone, I won't register the font and it shouldn't get picked up.

Kenny.

I'm talking about Smartphone. Kind of lame to disable a function in a program to prevent messing it up other programs I think. Shouldn't this be something that should be coded different in CA? It is a font only CA uses, so why not install it in it's own directory and tell CA where to look (registry setting?). It's to easy to say it's something with other programs instead of a flaw in CA.

You can't really hold it against CityTime Alarm SP because other software programers made a bad assumption that no one would ever add another font to the Smartphone device, were lazy in there coding, and never define the font to be used. I wish I could choose the font to be used in more application.
