Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to change the username that a SPV uses to access e-mail through OMA (Outlook Mobile Access)?

The thing is that I have a user who has been accessing his e-mail using the companys Outlook Mobile Access, however we are starting to changer peoples user accounts so that we a have a standard across the board.

However the problem is now that are SPV users are unable to access there mail as the phone seems to store the username and password of there Previous account some where. For the live of me I cant figure where the blasting information is stored!!! And we dont want to do a hard reset on every single phone. So the way I see it, I have to options:

1. I need to know how to edit the information on the SPV C500 so that it has the new username

or

2. I need to know where it is stored so that I can delete it. (I have already tried removing all cookies and temp. internet files, but still no luck)

Any help would be great!!

Cheers

Go to---- Start-Messages--Email (outlook)--Options--Account setup

Thats the place to change it.

Furthermore, you can backup your messages using SMS Backup or ALL backup.

Oh ok, well the OMA is handled by your network administrator, he/she is the only one that could change the account information, it has nothing to do with your phone.

Talk to the administrator.

Sorry tonijj, but i think you miss understand.

As I know that the OMA is controlled by my admistator, but the problem is with my phone, as it prompt me for a certificate then it asks me for my user name and password. I have entered this a while back and ticked the option to save the settings, so that it nolonger prompts me for a username and password.

But I now have a new username, Thus i need to change it on my phone, but i dont get prompted for the username and password as it keeps trying to use the old username. Therefore I need to locate where the settings are stored on my phone so i can change them, thing is it doen't seem to be held as cookies as i have removed all of these from my phone.

Does that clarify the problem alittle more?

Hi garryjw,

Thanks for the suggestion but im not syncing with the server. All i am doing is typing in a webpage address just like you would with your PC for accessing webmail, but on my Phone.

Therefore all i am doing is fewing my e-mails as webpages (just be it text only). However just like webmail I am originally asked for a username and password, and to save details. I ckick save details. however my username for my OMA (webmail has changed) and i need to change this on the phone but i am no longer prompt for the details.

Ok now I understand, one thing you could try is to delete the certificate under Settings--Certificates. Then download it again and you'll probably have to plug in the info again.

Actually that may not work.

I ckick save details.  however my username for my OMA (webmail has changed) and i need to change this on the phone but i am no longer prompt for the details.

Apologies for misunderstanding the use of OMA. Most people seem to refer to OMA when they actually mean ActiveSync. I think one work round for your problem is to add /username on the end of the url you are using for OMA. This will force OMA to re-authenticate you as that user.

Hi garryjw,

tryed you suggestion but I seem to be (https://company.com/oma/username) but it keeps coming up with page can not be found?

I dont think this works on exchange server 2003 although it works on previous versions or is there something i need to enable exchange server to allow users to access the e-mail this way?

Or did I just type it wrong?

Apologies you are quite right you cannot do this with 2003. Let me do some digging and I'll see what the syntax is for 2003.

Ok strangely it seems its not possible to switch user account with a url switch in 2003 (unless anyone knows different)

One possible work round. Do you have OWA on the same server? If so try logging into that using the /username switch. Then try OMA. This worked for switching between accounts for me when i just tried it.

I had this problem on my SPV M500 but found out where to remove the stored password :)

Use a registry editor on the device and navigate to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Internet Settings\5.0\Password. Under here there will be an entry for the site you saved the password for. Simply delete this key and you will be prompted for the login credentials next time you load the site in PIE.

Hope this helps!

Thanks doyle_am, that seems to have work athough the path for me was:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Internet Settings\Password

Is it possible to create a reg file to delete this entry in the registry rather than having to install a reg-editor on all the user SPV's?
