tbh - it could be the antenna of the phone if you are stating that when ya put the sim in another phone it works...

I get perfect reception on my E200/2xC500 and before I returned it - the C550

funny, I have had the oposite experience. I would have full signal strength when my nokia coworkers would only have a bar or two. Must be a problem specific to your unit.

I have noticed a marked decrease in signal strength with the C500 compared to the E200.

I travel up and down the M6 weekly and you can barely hold a conversation anywhere on that motorway for 5-10 minutes or more before the signal drops out and the call cuts off.

I posted about this ages ago when I first got my C500.

I have to say that I've compared an SPV C500 with the SPV E200 and my MDA III and the C500 didn't do well.

My C500 never seemed that great, but it was generally on a par with both my old SPV Classic, and the fiance's Siemens SL55 and Samsung D500. Wasn't quite as good as my new M500, but that thing's got more space inside it to hold the aerial that I'm not surprised!

The C500 never seemed that bad compared to other phones of it's size though, in my opinion.
