plug in headfones n sound comes out of speakers

hi.i like listening 2 music on my spvc500.but recently when i plug in my headphones, the sound comes out of the phone aswell as the ear phones. im going on a long journey tomorrow so i need 2 b able 2 listen 2 my music wivout bothering others around me.

please help. thanks in advance!

it shouldnt be possible to have sound out of both. To resolve you could try..

a) reboot

;) check the headphones are pushed all the way in, wiggle it, etc

c) your c500 might have a duff headset jack

hopefully a) would fix it!

at a push, you might find a piece of tape over the speaker (top right) helpful!! :)

I'm not up on the whole C500 headphone thing, i never really bothered (hrt iPod!), but does it still switch on the headset profile when you plug in a headphone jack?

Im sure mine used to do that.. If it doesnt do it automagically, can you choose it manually?

Sounds like my problem only my phone is fine until i get a text message, then it starts to come out of the speaker and headphones.... until i turn the phone off then on then its fine, until i get another text. It is very annoying.
