Is it the same as the c500?

I cant get it to work.

Reason being : Active sync has stopped working all together and the phone isnt being recognised :S

Tried it on 2 diff machines

so ive hard reset. Same as C500 i just didnt get it right.

Ive removed activesync and reinstalled.

Still doesnt work.

The device isnt recognised.

Any ideas?

First of all if you are using a USB hub don't then try different ports.

Also check if you have any partnerships set up, if you do try removing them.

yup ive re-installed active sync all together so no partnerships.

It was working fine a few days ago.

and ive disabled the other ports.

Im stumped

Try another actual USB port? Sometimes your USB port decides to break.

Are you using Windows Mobile 5?

Its the same on both my home and work pc and ive tried switch ports at home but cheers anyway. could well have been that.

Im using WMP10 on my pc. But i never use it

Windows Mobile 5 on a C550? If he was then I think lots of people would be surprised. Not least Microsoft :)

Can you tell us what happens when you plug the C550 in? Does the PC make the 'ping' that indicates a device is detected?

no nothing at all. as if its not there.

Its not the pc or cables ive ruled those out.

Im guessing is just knackered and needs sending back

I have had this problem with just about every device I have ever owned that uses ActiveSync! And I still haven't got to the bottom of it but in every case it resolves itself - strange but true. Give it a couple of days reboot your PC and your phone a couple of times and eventually it will just work again.....
