caller id- and ROM 1.30 to 1.43 upgrade

Ive had this mpx220 for 5 months-- Its never displayed my name outgoing to other people's caller id's. Ive talked to cingular and motorola about it with no success. No blocks on cingulars end and all settings are set to allow all to see my name.... I tried to used the ROM update on two different pcs while chatting to motorola techs (in Costa Rica????) They had no clue- but this phone wont flash-- Guess im stuck with 1.30.

Has anyone else encountered either of these problems, if so, how can I fix them without sending the phone to texas (as the tech stated)

Backup your stuff using sprite or another comparable program. Hard Reset the phone and then try flashing. Hope that this helps.
