This is an odd one. I use Belkin Bluetooth Software and everything works OK. However if I try to send a file in the straight foward way as you suggest it doesn't.What I have to do is-

1. R/click bluetooth icon on taskbar.

2. Quick connect.

3. File transfer > find devices.

4. When your device is highlighted click open.

5. A dialogue box opens saying 'Service File-Transfer not found on device'

6. Click OK.

7. Now go back to the file you want to send-R/click>send to>bluetooth>your

device>click and it goes to your smartphone-(in my documents)

This works everytime for all files on both C500 and i-mate sp3i but don't ask

me why. I don't know if it will work with your software but it does with Belkin

available from PC World. Hope this helps. :)

PS. Once you have connected like this you can keep sending files to your smartphone with (7.) you only have to go back to (1.) after you disconnect bluetooth.

Might it be easier to sync the phone by Bluetooth and then simply drag and drop the files into wherever you want them on the phone through Activesync?

I know it is possible to send files to the C500 by bluetooth, but it does seem a bit hit and miss (or sometimes miss and miss) so I think getting it to Activesync is probably the most reliable way of doing it.

Good luck either way, mate! :)

I know it took a while first time I had to Activesync via Bluetooth, but once it was set up, it worked perfectly first time, every time, after that. It really is worth doing!

I remember on one of the forums there's a sticky entitled "Bulletproof guide to Activesyncing by Bluetooth" (or something like that) and although it's a bit long winded - it DOES work. Follow that from start to finish (should take about 10 to 20 minutes) and it's worth it in the end.

i had the same problem with my bluesoliel, used the bulletproof guide some of it doesnt apply to my device but you can still go trhrough the same process but trust me it works, Advise make sure u restart your phone when it says, i forgot like 3 times wasted an hour on that!!!!

best follow the "bluetooth over active sync" guides in this site, very usefull info. i had widcomm drivers on my pc (for a previous phone) so i removed those & used only the XP bluetooth drivers.

once id got active sync working i had to remember to go in [activesync] connection settings, uncheck "allow serial cable or infra red to this port..." to disconect - & to sync again, open connection settings & check the box (should be port 6), start the app on the phone.

i think if you follow THIS you get some idea, you dont need to use activesync after that if its only for simple file transfers. click on the bluetooth logo in the system tray "open bluetooth settings", all being right you should see your phone listed & in com ports should be com 6 or 7
