Guest squall Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 digital-lifestyles.info is reporting O2 are to carry the HTC Universal branded as the XDA Exec: O2 is set to introduce the new Windows XDA Exec, touted as the most feature-packed smartphone ever released. The pocket-bulging device offers a feast of connectivity options, with support for tri-band GSM/GPRS, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 1.2, all running on Microsoft's spanking new Windows Mobile 5.0 mobile operating system. The HTC Universal has an impressive specification and will come complete with Windows Mobile 5, perhaps one of the first devices to reach market with the new Operating System. All in all a very promising device. For more information on the HTC Universal please see HERE. To read more of the digital-lifestyles.info article click HERE.
Guest diceman Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 I've heard, from orange at least, that this device will not be available untill at least 2006. Orange are notibly slow at releasing new phones, and this report sounds like it's not based on pure speculation, so, anyone like to have a guess when this will be released (before the end of the year as the article suggests)?. d

Guest Pondrew Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 I understood that the HTC Universal was to go into production in November...
Guest diceman Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Also, i've only heard about the HTC Wizard, not Universal. is this a different phone or a spin off from the Wizard? It looks completely different with the rotateable keypad/display.
