Guest spgster Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Hi, My mate keeps sending me VCARD contacts via SMS, but my smartphone does not seem to recognize them, so the only way I can save the numbers is to dial them first then save from there.. There must be a tool to handle this blatant omission from an otherwise to phone! Steve

Guest spgster Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Not so sure... But anyhow... Is there a way I can at least access these sms messages via explorer so I can bung them in a spread sheet and import them that way? Seems a bit strange to not be able to receive, but can send... Boo!

Boo! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You could save to the PC, import with Outlook, and then it would be auto-synced with your contacts anyway? That must be the easiest way! :) -Raz
Guest spgster Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Hi Raz, OK, sounds good.. How do I do this? I have about 50 sms messages ready to be saved... Cannot seem to find them by browsing (btw, newbie!) Steve
Guest spgster Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 Here was my rather convoluted solution... 1 install Mobile Extender from www.jayo.com 2 downlaod SMS to outlook 3 export sms to text file 4 write a text parser to create individual VCF files 5 Import into outlook contacts 6 sync with phone! Phew... Not a very nice way, but it worked!
