Hi,

This is my first post on this forum, please be nice to me :)

I am hoping to buy an Orange SPV C500 in the near future as my current Nokia 3510i is boring and lacks any decent features.

I am not spending enough on my phone to justify being on contract and I'm not a massive fan of the C550 anyway which is why I'm going to stick with a C500!

Anyone got any suggestions of things I must do with the phone/applications I should install.

I'm planning to download/install: Skype, Pocket TV, Smart Explorer but there will probably be more I haven't thought of yet ;)

I know that you can access the internet on your C500 via your PC when it is connected by USB and that you can ActiveSync via Bluetooth but can you use bluetooth to access the internet on your C500?

All Advice Appreciated :(

yes you can use bluetooth to access the internet via the PC - you just have to activesync it via bluetooth :)

there will be more applications in the future for SPV's in general and currently are more.

i have just finished creating an application that allows you to remotly control WMP on your PC from your SPV using either GPRS, usb or bluetooth - was really designed for bluetooth ;)

I have 2 C500's now (bought a second one about 3 weeks ago) and 1 E200. I had a C550 for one day and gave it back and bought another C500. Was not happy with the customer service from orange for the C550 as they knew NOTHING about the phone, and still dont!

DO NOT install illegal software on the phone - period. That is my suggestion for you :(

Yep, I think chatting on MSN Messenger when im laying on the sofa/in bed sounds good to me :)

I wasn't planning to install any illegal software anyway. I'm an IT technician/network administrator and I have to be very careful with licensing etc at work so I don't do illegal software full stop!

Does anyone know of any free software for converting DVD's to a format that you can play on your smartphone? I know paid software exists to do this but I'm not going to have much money left after I've bought the phone.

My C550 is costing me £110 for the year from onestop - can you get it cheaper on PAYG?

I doubt it :)
