Guest nickb23 Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 Hi Guys, I am looking to change from Orange to O2, and hopefully be taking my phone number with me. I have a month on my Orange contract which I know I need to pay before they give me my PAC code. Now my question is... As everyone here, i use my phone all the time. I dont want to go through the hassle of sending a text to everyone saying i have a temp number. Is there anyway around this? Can my Orange phone still recieve call on my number even if they have given me my PAC code? Can I set up a day when my phone number stop being Orange and is then O2? I know there will be some disruption, but the less the better!! Any help will be much appreciated Thanks NickB
Guest psionandy Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 When you use your PAC code there is a one week notice period that is given. During this time your old number is still on your old network and the new number is on your new phone (both numbers still work). On the day of transfer.. your old network is disconnected and the number is moved to your new network. There maybe a couple of hours on that day when you can't recieve calls. Probably the easiest thing to do is carry both phones with you for a week
