Guest the_evertonian Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 I'm fed up with my SPV M2000 and its numerous annoying quirks. My mate has just bought a SIM-free 'vanilla' I-Mate Jam from Expansys, which looks great and actually does what it's supposed to! Is it worth getting rid of the M2000 for an I-Mate Jam? The only major difference, from what I can make out, is the lack of Wi-Fi on the Jam, but this wouldn't really bother me. I am really looking to avoid the M500, as I don't want another contract, and I'm sick of the way Orange butcher and re-hash the ROMs on their phones. That's why I'm aiming at a vanilla handset this time. What do you lot reckon?
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 I say go for it. I'm getting an m500 soon if orange give in and charge me damn less than 99.99.
Guest amo Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 Great device - but i've given up using it as a phone as such and now its just my PDA (sold the old iPaq). The lack of keyboard was too much for me, however im a heavy texter (sending 1500 per month) so this was the obvious downfall for me
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 1500 A MONTH! Thats more than ive sent in a lifetime * gobsmacked * Jesus lol
Guest psionandy Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 My thumb texting is so bad that I prefer the handwriting recognition... And if you want wifi on it then ebuyer.com have a very cheap (£18) wifi card. I think it's a very nice side. About as small as i'd want in a pda, and about as large as i can get away with for a phone. Just in the sweetspot
