C550 upgrade

My Orange contract runs out on Wednesday so I rang Orange to found out the price of an upgrade. £110 now free after Wednesday!!!!!

I hear stories of people being offered free upgrades after 9 months yet I always have to pay top wack???

i can (and will) upgrade to a c550 on Aug 16th which is when the 11th month of my contract starts

Sounds obvious, but as you are perplexed by this...

The more you spend per month, be it fixed line rental amount, or 'extra' calls (& therefore profit to Orange), the more likely they are to offer you what you want, especially if you say you are going to go with a different network, due to their pricing/free phone on offer/etc. It may also depend on who you actually speak to...
