Guest YeOldePube Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 I have a E100 smartphone running windows ce 2002, it is really really bad it wont work half the programs I put on it. For example I recently installed gsplayer, it didnt even think it was necessary to put a linkon the start menu so I had to do that manually and whenever I start it it just hangs with a bit of the screen missing. Most of the other programs I have put on just say missing components and dont work. I personally just think it is Microsoft being wack and making sure anything they realese doesnt work properly, I have Windows ME as well which just adds insult to injury because it crashes at least 10 times a day. If anyone can help, i.e. if I'm missing some plug-ins or stuff, that would be amazing but if anyone just wants to talk about how microsoft likes to mess with their head that would make me feel a lot better also. Cheers Steve
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Welcome to the forum :) I think your problem may be that you're trying to install Pocket PC software onto a Smartphone. I don't think there is a Smartphone version of gsplayer, for example. Software is usually never compatible with both platforms. The main reason is that Pocket PCs are stylus-based input-wise, whereas Smartphones are keypad-based. There may also be some applications etc that work with the 2002 OS and not 2003 and vice versa.
