help making video files smaller

HI ,

might be having a dumb moment but is there any way (software) that will reduce the size of the files and not loose the quality, as i'm sure the spv550 doesn't use it all

Jflett2, use the program from Inlinesk8a's link to re-size your videos to the right resolution for the screen. Then use the excellent Core Pocket Media Player (TCPMP - formerly Betaplayer) to play the file on your phone.

Any problems, have a look around the forums - there are several guides as to how to convert videos. ;)

I just use the all powerful windows movie maker (pardon the sarcasm).

Open the file from movie maker and it will be translated into short consecutive clips.

Just drag them to the timeline in the same order and you just reconstructed your movie.

Now simply click file, save as and choose a format. I forget exactly which one, but you'll be presented with a lot of choices. don't worry, only a few of them make sense. most of them you can dictate the file size. unfortunately this is directly proportionate to the quality of the movie. But taking into account your phone's screen size, it won't matter much.

once you've saved it, check your new file on your pc if it's to your liking. then copy to the phone.

(processor speed is important with this app. if you're processor is too slow, the sound won't sync.)
