Orange GPRS

Hi, Orange and Motorola have sent me the settings six times between them and I haven't recieved a single setup SMS,I receive their advertising messages no problem.

After much fumbling around and a few pints last night, we seem to have got it working after a fashion, i.e. "check network coverage" happens a lot, and "the page you're looking for cannot be found", although it's already on the phone.

Start>more>settings>more>data connections

menu>edit connections>GPRS then a whole load comes up but no Orange

menu>add>name>Orange GPRS

connects to > the internet

access point>orangewap [all one word lower case]

user name>blank

password>blank

primary DNS>0.0.0.0 [zero's]

secondary DNS> 0.0.0.0

IP address>blank

press done three times [sometime it puts a zero in the IP address,clear it]

you should be back to Data Connections

Internet connection>scroll to>Orange GPRS

work connection>automatic

WAP connection>automatic

secure WAP connection>automatic

done three times should be back at homepage

If that's not enough we had to do this, {back room boys, tear your hair out }

menu>internet explorer>menu>address bar>http://wap.orange/

press>GO this connected me to Orange HOME [page not found sometimes]

Next did a Google

Address bar>http://google.co.uk/

THEN

back to internet explorer

menu>add favorite

name>Orange

Address>http://wap.orange.co.uk/

folder>favorites

DONE

do the same for google.

This got me up and running,but I wish we'd written it down last night. ! !

If any of you MODACO guy's want to edit this to take out any un-needed steps to make it easier, go for it.
