Help! Reversing Recent Orange Update for SPV C500

Hi all :) any1 know how to reverse the new update and return the original ROM version?

:), a hard reset isn't going to reverse a ROM update. It all depends on how you completed the update and what state your phone was in before you started the update. I, for example can use any of the ROM updater .exe's due to my phone being IMEI unlocked.

State of phone was as supplied by orange and has never been tampered with - its locked to orange and I flashed the ROM using the file RUU_1.02_OrangeUK_v4.2.1.1_Ship.exe

I've just scanned the forums and came across another one - RUU_v0.995_OrangeUK_v4.1.1.4.exe - looks like an ealier version - will try this and post if its ok - if not will flash it back to the newer version :)

Want to go back because now I can't re-install tomtom >:)

Update: tried the RUU_1.02_OrangeUK_v4.2.1.1_Ship.exe and got an error message to upgrade only - grrrr - i think it means you can't go back to the old version - any1 else got any ideas please ?

ps spoke to orange tech help and they were as much use as tits on a bull!

OK, I think you have 2 choices now, either get it IMEI unlocked so you can install any update, or get hold of an image, (bin file), of the previous version.

p.s. TomTom works with 4.2.1.1
