Having trouble changing sounds.

Hello all.

I’m having real trouble when changing to sounds on the phone.

After going to settings then sounds if I change anyone of them pressing done doesn’t work, it won’t execute the command.

So I have to press cancel or the home button and the sound remains the same.

The button is not at fault as I can change other options but not sound.

Do any of you clever people know how to fix this?

So when I want to change a ring tone or change the sound that signals a new email or text I cant.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Please don’t say “try hard reset” as I have done this to many times and now I have so much software that it takes about 3 hours to get right again.

This has been reported before and I seem to remember that the problem is caused by third-party media players, eg. Pocket Music or Betaplayer.

Try uninstalling them one-by-one to see if the problem goes.

Another thing I would look at is file association. You can use Smart Explorer to change this. For example look at what progam is associated with wav files.

Thats interesting as I have both of those on the phone.

Unfortunately removing Beta player and pocket Music didn’t work so a hard reset ensued.

It’s strange as the entire collection of programs is back on the phone and everything works really well now.

Thanks again for your help I’ve learnt a little more from that.

Did you try reassociating MP3s with Windows Media Player ?
