Guest obrimi-a Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 I've just received my brand new Orange SPV C500. No SIM card included bought off Ebay. I'm on a Vodaphone contract and am stuck trying to use it. I've assembled the SPV and put it on charge I then switched it on with my Vodaphone SIM in and I got the message "network is locked please input unlock code" so I took the SIM out hoping to get into the phone to try the SIM unlock util but it just comes up with Invalid or missing SIM card. What do I need to do to be able to start using my Vodaphone SIM. I have searched the forums for a method but everyone there seems to be able to at least get into their phone and copy the app files across? I've registered my IMEI number at Orange site http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/SPV.aspx?U=T but with my phone not able to get on the network I can't see what use that is going to be? Arrrgghh help! Please reply with nice and simple steps on how to get me out of this as I'm new to all this phone unlocking malarky. Thanks.
Guest DaveP3@ Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 Hi, Im by no means an expert but i did do mine last night :) From what ive read youve got 2 options....... 1st borrow an Orange SIM to carry out the decert and SIM unlock or pay £20 to get it done. I read a post from a guy in the US who didnt have access to an Orange SIM and managed to get it done (think he paid $38-$40 for it) Cant find the link at the moment but im looking. HTH, Dave.
