Guest Tanko81 Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 I just got an Smt 5600 and i love it, but im having some trouble getting good reception. Im with cingular and what happens is, it will go from having full bars to no bars in seconds when i dont even move the phone. Il stay in the same place and the bars will fluxuate greately. Is there any reason for this? or is it all normal? I ask this because i never had this problem with my mpx220. Thanks everyone.
Guest Geeklord Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 I'm not sure if this has any merit, but I've read that some smartphones use ram to amplify the radio signal. if that's the case, maybe the phone's memory management can sense when the signal is not being used and hence save precious memory. Or maybe you're in a particular spot that lies on the fringes of two adjacent cells, the phone gets confused where to pick up the relatively stronger signal. A good way to test this is to intall Celltrack DB. You can monitor which cell antena you're picking up signal from and how strong. Just do a search for celltrack. It's quite a popular topic (I don't know if they're done with beta already and out with the commercial)
