problems unpacking C500 update rom!

Hi,

i'm having problems installing the new ROM file. When i try to run it it says "the contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are trying to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again."

i've tried re-downloading this and still no luck - any ideas?

also i'm having problems with the OTA unlock method - not recieving any notification as to wether its been successful or not!

aaargh :evil:

does anyone have a link to a working file i can use?

Anyone.....? if anyone can host/post a working copy (or at least one that worked for them) it would be much appreciated.

Phoned orange support and they didn't even know what i was talking about! said i had to ring a premium rate number to recieve support on this - not impressed at all :cry:

No worries - sorted Olivier at Orange Dev helped with this - firewall causing problems.

top marks to orange support this time :-)

im having this problem... what exactly caused it? i've disabled my software firewall but to no avail... am i to assume that it's the hardware firewall on my router causing the problem???

Not too sure to be honest - he placed the file in a shared file on the orange developer site and i managed to download from there.

I'm sorry I have to remove the link - forum rules / legal issues etc.

We can only allow links to official download sites.

With ROM downloads I have found that, firewall or not, it can take 2 or 7 goes to get the full file onto my PC. Less helpful than akurei_2000 I'm afraid but I would advise you just to try again.

aw jeez, i read this post at work on my phone (where i was naturally unable to aquire said file) and by the time i got back, the link is gone :cry:

not to worry, it was expected, at least - rules are rules after all.

thanks anyway though, i've tried no less than 15+ times, so it's safe to say my system just dont like the file from the orange servers!...
