Guest smilne Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Hi I installed ICANDY on my SPV C500 and I re-booted the phone. Unfortunately the ICANDY screen sticks on the boot up and I can't use the phone. I also can't get into the phone via the Active Sync Any ideas anyone? Right now the phone is useless STu :)
Guest Confucious Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Did you install it on a meory card? - if so try taking the card out. If you didn't then it looks like a hard reset is due! Good luck.
Guest smilne Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Thanks - I think I installed it on the phone rather than the memory card. How do I do a hard reset?? Will this eliminate delete the contents of the of the memory card??

Guest smilne Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Thank you very much - any idea why this may have happened??? Is there a way I can store the settings on my phone ie ringtones, homescreen etc so I don't have to do this in the future??
Guest coalfield Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Thank you very much - any idea why this may have happened??? Is there a way I can store the settings on my phone ie ringtones, homescreen etc so I don't have to do this in the future?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just to let you know. EXACTLY the same thing happened to me. Had to quickly find out how to do a hard reset and I lost everything. I guess you live and learn
Guest drblow Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 This is a result of the c500 habing a rubbish homescreen engine. I have no idea of why (after owning a c500 for a year), but I had no end of problems with it when using the orange shortcuts plugin. On occassion, if you leave the phone to sit for ages without touching it, it would come on at the contacts screen - I couldn't access the homescreen, but I could at least go into settings & change the homescreen which would enable a proper reboot. But the theme that caused the problem would need to be removed. Otherwise it's hard reset time. Gotta say, I have had no similar problems to this with the new c550.
Guest lobo71 Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 I have the same problem with a C500 Orange Fr 4.2.2.1 I backup with Sprite Backup so no worry. I always backup before installing a new soft or theme.
