Help please....................

I have a new spv500 from Orange and have now been trying to pair my Polstar reciever so as to use tomtom5 mobile.......

My phone will recognise the receiver but will not lock on to it and therefore when i start Tom tom it has no gps device.

On reading a number of articles they all refer to setting up the com ports but this is no longer on the phone ..........

I have version 4.21.1088 which i'm led to believe is 2nd edition ??

Can anyone offer a way for me to pair the receiver and get this working ???

Orange have just said that they dont support tomtom so tuff titty....

Cheers

With the new firmware the menu has changed for the com ports.

START -> SETTINGS -> 8 -> 1 -> Menu-> 2 COM Ports

Set up for there it should work!

I have tried that and set both ports one as incoming and the outgoing sets itself up as my polstar gps receiver.

the receiver will still not lock onto my phone by bluetooth........

does the original tomtom gps thingy work ok?

Tomtom seems to have it's own methods of bonding to gps's. but most users seem to not have to set anything up, the software seems to do it for you.

Sorry cannot be more help!

God knows how but with a little more research i have now manged to get my polstar gps reciever to work with ttm5.

i have had to rename the reciever "BT Gps" and set up the incoming com port (6) prior to starting ttm5.

I also had to start ttm5 with the bluetooth off.

Once into the ttm5 menu i went to configure gps and selected other and done. Waited a couple of minutes and it started to work and has been for the last week.

I hope this helps.
