Guest inlinesk8a Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 should be UNLOCKED still unless theres a upgrade or something
Guest horent135 Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 it that so, then how come i can't see my file manger??
Guest brunim6987 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 (edited) What do you mean by 'can't see my file manager'? Locking or unlocking has nothing to do with the file manager. By locking or unlocking your phone you are simply restricting or opening the phone to to various wireless carriers. Also, hard reseting the phone will NOT cause the phone to lock (if it was in an unlocked state). brunim6987 Edited August 27, 2005 by brunim6987
Guest brunim6987 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Forgot to mention.....the file manager application is an add-on app that is on the Motorola CD that came with the phone. If you hard reset the phone it will wipe out the install and you will need to reinstall it from the CD. This is probably why you can no longer find it after the reset. brunim6987
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 horent135 what MPX200 do you have? ie what location are you? There are two types of lock. One is application lock which is an security measure Orange place on their phones so only signed applications can run on it. Application unlocking is reset when ever you do a Hard Reset and need to re-unlocked again from the Orange developers site. A hard reset will wipe the phone and restore it's default settings. The other is SIM lock this as it states is a network lock so that you can only use a SIM from a selected network. SIM unlocking is a perminant feature (unless you have a SAP then the SMART updates relock the SIM) when you do a hard reset on a SIM unlocked MPX200 it will stay SIM unlocked.
