Guest Tanko81 Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Ok, i followed the steps here http://img45.exs.cx/img45/8438/dvdtoavi0iy.jpg exactly until i go to the part where it asked me to view the output folder. Whenever i tried using VTS_01_1.VOB as my input file and pushed 'Direct Encoding' I could never find the output file it made, so i used VTS_03_1.VOB and this worked (took a long time to encode). I dont have a card reader/writer so i just tried copy and pasting the output file into my storage card on my phone through activesync. However, when i get the 'copy and convert to mobile divice' screen the bottom bar starts to fill up with blue, but when it gets about 1/4 of the way done it empties and starts over. Why is this?? Sorry i know this is not very clear, but im really getting frustrated with this, i have never been able to put a movie on my smartphone and iv owned one for over a year now, so i really want to finally get this. ANY help would be appreciated.
Guest Confused Stu Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 This is a known flaw within Activesync. Although the progress bar stops and starts again from the beginning on large files - it DOESN'T actually stop transfering. In other words, even though the progress bar is saying it keeps starting again, it's not and the file is still being transfered properly. Just leave it for quite a long time (not sure exactly how long - I tend to use a card reader as it's so much quicker) and the file will show as transfered fully and correctly at the end. :)
Guest Tanko81 Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Thanks alot, know why it wouldnt let me use VTS_01_1.VOB as my input file? I ask because when i previewed VTS_03_1.VOB it went straight to the movie and not the menu screen. Not a big deal really, but if i could get it to go there first i would really like that
Guest Confused Stu Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Not sure to be honest - I only use DVD Decrypter (as it was free, I found it first and it worked!) and use the IFO mode. Then it's just a case of selecting the stream with the film in it. As you're going to be saving the film as a video file, why are you trying to get the menu in there? You won't be able to use it to navigate the film, or select particular chapters or anything. If you can find the right section of the DVD structure you might be able to extract the video sequence running behind the menu if you just like the sequence, but I've never tried. I'd say just stick with getting the film onto the phone - that's going to be impressive enough to your mates, trust me! :)

Guest vijay555 Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 I got a 1gb from mobymemory. However, look on xda developers forum. A company is now selling 1gb for £35! SO cheap... v
