Guest millow Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 (edited) Hey! Have any of u guys tried to add a Mp3 OR midi from the SD card on your Qtek 8010 (C500) ? I have lots of those problems, where the phone wont cooperate with the SD card. THat doesnt feel that good. :| what am i doing wrong? What have i missed? :??: I want to be able to... : ... chose ANY Midi/mp3/wav file in "Sound" settings for Ringtone, Alarm , SMS ... ANything! :) And also the Themes.... I want the phone to read directly from the SD card, and not copy the stuff it needs to the phone, because (obviously) i have 1Gb space on the SD and i dont want the phone to dry its own space out. ... Want to be able to play any video and see it in my list of movies in all the programs i install. Pocket viewer etc etc. had some small probs with that. Doesnt the progs search the phone for available videos that it supports? :??: And a bunch of other stuff! Ex. how do i exchange pictures and videos over bluetooth with other phones?? Cant see if i can send a pic over bluetooth. Is it possible?? Would also be glad if u could list up a bunch of apps that are nice to use. Theres some other stuff i need help with too, but ill be back with those. Really big thanx if u can help!! I really thought Smartphones would give me more abilities, not problems to solve! =) Edited August 11, 2005 by millow

Guest Confused Stu Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 OK, we've got a few questions here so I'll see what I can do! Apologies if I miss any that you've raised but I know all the answers to these ones are posted on the forum previously, so have a go at searching to find anything I miss. :) - In order to use WAV's and WMA's as ringtones they need to be in either Storage/Application Data/Sounds or Storage Card/My Documents. Obviously the first one is not what you want as it's on the phone, not the card. The second works with most variants of the C500's ROMs but I'm not familiar with the 8010 so it might not. Best solution is to download one of RJV's free programs from http://www.airfagev.com that allows you to navigate the phone, select a sound file anywhere and assign it as a ringtone, SMS, alarm, whatever. - If your phone's ROM comes with Windows Media Player 10 then you can get it to search the phone (in Library, Update Library) and it'll search for any compatible video and list them all. Also, if it comes with Pv Player then you can open this and it'll search the phone for any compatible videos. If you use TCPMP (formerly Betaplayer) to play your videos - and if you don't DO SO FROM NOW ON! - then you can select playlist, then add files and simply make a list of all your video files for you to pick and choose from. When you add a new video, just remember to add it onto your playlist too. There's no automatic searching on TCPMP - good thing too, I don't want the kids seeing my porn collection when they're looking for Scooby Doo! ;) - To send files by Bluetooth, go to http://www.binarys.com and download SmartExplorer v2 (also get SP Task Manager while you're there, it's great!). Now just navigate to the file you want to send, select send by BT/IR and it'll start searching for Bluetooth devices to send it to. Just click on the one you want when it's found it. The File Manager on the phone might be able to do it too (can't remember) by selecting "Send by IR" after you've switched Bluetooth on, but SmartExplorer is SO much nicer to use! It's easier to think of a Smartphone as a PC rather than a phone. When you buy a phone, it's a finished article. When you buy a PC, you then start adding useful software to it and make it exactly what you need and want. In other words, it's fun to play with! :(
Guest millow Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Thanx for the help Stu! =) I just wonder one other thing. I have a swedish phone that ive upgraded to Version 2.2.32.11. But it seems that the T9 is english. How do i fix this? Thanx again!
Guest Hawko Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Just found out... they can be as long as u want... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> do u mean how long it rings for can be aslong as u want!? on orange i beleive the max is 30 seconds, unless uve found some way round it! :)
Guest millow Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Naa.. I wasnt clear enough. I mean that the sound file can be like 2-3 minutes, but it probably just plays 30 sek. Would be nice to play longer though.
Guest Confucious Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 But it seems that the T9 is english. How do i fix this? Thanx again! Hold down the T9 button (*) and a menu should come up and one of the options (on my C550 its option 5) should be T9 Languages.
