Update ROM SMT5600

Hi All,

I have tried searching Adiovox's site and this forum for an answer to this but can't seem to find it. I recently purchased a smt5600 AT&T version from ebay to replace an MPX220 (even after latest ROM it was buggy at best). I unlocked the 5600 with the instructions pinned on this site so I can use it with TMobile. It seems to function properly but I am wondering if there isn't an updated ROM for this phone. I don't seem to be able to find any information about updating it. I am also wondering if this is the same phone as the C500. Is the C500 just a different manufacturer? If it is, can I use updated Orange ROM? And how would I tell which ROM I am running (I think its operator 1.1.40.0 manufacturer 1.1.58.80) and if the Orange update is newer, better etc. Sorry for the newbie question but for some reason the info on this phone is confusing me with the multiple versions. Any help is much appreciated. :) Nash

There has been no updated ROM for Audiovox 5600. reason being, this phone already had stuff that Orange updated ROM had to offer--mainly WM10 player. I use this phone extensively and have had no issues what so ever. Why do you want any upgraded ROM? Are you having any issues or looking for a specific feature? If I were you, I would not upgrade to Orange ROM-just my 2 cents..

Nope, no issues with this phone. Just so used to looking for updates and fixes with the MPX220 that I think I couldn't help it. Thanks for the info, thats exactly what I wanted to know.

I would like to update the rom on my cingular smt5600 phone because they seem to have locked the ability to select a network other then the cingular one. In my area (around my house) cingular has extremely poor reception but t-mobile has great reception however I'm not able to hook into the t-mobile network.

All help is greatly appreciated.

You don't need to change registry.

Try to put your MP3 files into \storage\application data\sound\
