Guest davejerome Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 I used to have a C500 on 02 that ran perfectly fine. I now have a C550 and have copied all the settings across exactly but they don't feel like working. I can browse the net, send texts but no picture messaging. Anybody had the same or know how to fix it Cheers Dave

Guest davejerome Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Have you got your GRPS/WAP working? I've tried all the settings I can find without success. Any help is much appreciated. thanks BillingeUK <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi there, If you do a search for threads i have written you will find one on how to set up a C500. Use all of the settings that you can then use the ones reccommened in the post previous to yours except change "connect via work" to " connect via internet" and you should be away.
Guest billingeuk Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Hi davejerome, I found your other post, and I’ve tried all these settings but had to tweak some to fit both the specific phone (c550) and the account (O2 Pay As You Go Online) Now got it setup like this; 1) Start>Settings>Data Connections>Menu>Edit Connections Dialup connection: Description: o2wap Connects to: The internet Phone number: +447712927927 User name: o2wap Password: password Domain: blank Proxy connection: Description: O2 WAP proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: Wap Network Proxy(name:port): 193.113.200.195:8002 Type: HTTP Username:o2wap Password:password GPRS connection: Description: o2 MMS Connects to: Secure WAP Network Access point: payanggo.o2.co.uk Username: payandgo Password: password Primary DNS: 193.113.200.195 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 I.P address: blank In the main data connections menu. Internet connection: o2wap Work connection : Automatic WAP connection: o2wap Secure wap connection: o2 MMS (not automatic) Start>Messaging>Media Messages>Menu>Options>Account Setup>Media Messages Menu- Edit connections - Menu- Add Not got this on c550 only Start>Messaging>Media Messages>Menu>Options>5 Account Setup> then 1 Display 2 Sending 3 Edit My Text 4 Signatures 5 Account Setup 6 Import SIM Messages so tried; Start>Configurations>MMS Settings>Menu>MMSC Settings Description: o2 MMS MMSC Address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 WAP Gateway: 193.113.200.195 Port: 9201 Connect Via: The Internet Max. Sending Size: 100K WAP Version: WAP 1.2 In Internet explorer, Menu-Options-Connections Untick 'automatically detect settings' Make 'Select network: The Internet' or 'Select Network: WAP network'. Still can’t access Internet On attempting to access a web page (http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/) I get; Connecting… then Finding Site… then; alert The page you are looking for cannot be found. So tried; (http://wap.digitalspy.co.uk/) and get; Connecting… then Finding Site… then; alert The page you are looking for cannot be found. Both connect using Internet Connection set to Pass through connection with PC however. And quick too. Am I missing something? Do I have a setting wrong, or is there something I have missed on the phone. Even MMS messaging won’t work now. I get the error message; Info There is not enough free space for message sending. Please free up some space and try again. But I have emptied the messages out, so what can it mean. I will be eternally grateful if you can help me. I can't believe I had MMS working the other night now it keeps harping on about out of space... thanks BillingeUK

Guest sepecat Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 Hi there After editing proxy connections (user , password ...) , open it again and check it. My C550 is not saving my password , and replacing it by some other.

Internet connection: o2gprs Work connection : Automatic WAP connection: o2wap Secure wap connection: o2 MMS (not automatic) seems to be working great browsing the internet and sending/receiving multi media messages  Hopes this helps, These settings have given me hours of gref  on all my previous spvs n this site has allways helped sorted me out in the end, it's nice to be able to contribute to such a usefull site! Keep up the good work peeps :) Nice one Jimweez
Guest Tommo_Smart Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 (edited) Hmm after much playing around it appears i can now send an MMS but when i select "to" when composing it only allows me to send to contacts with an email address. I can of course manually type the number in and that works. Any odea what the problem is? When this is upp and running ill write up all the settings for future reference. cheers...tom Hi all, I am having real difficulty getting this working on my c550. I have o2 PAYG which definitely has credit and could send MMS fine on my previous phone. I can receive GPRS MMS but when sending it says "Unable to send your message". It also only lists recipients with email addresses in my contacts list. Cn anyone suggest where im going wrong? My settings: Start>Configurations>MMS Settings>MMSC Settings>o2mms MMSC URL: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:800 WAP Gateway: 193.113.200.195 Port: 9201 Connect via: secure wap network Max size: 100k Wap version: 1.2 Start> Settings> Data Connections> Edit Connections GPRS Connections: o2 GPRS: Connect to: The internet Access point: payandgo.o2.co.uk Username: payandgo Password: password Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondar DNS: 0.0.0.0 IP Address: 0.0.0.0 o2 MMS: Connect to: Secure WAP Network Access point: payandgo.o2.co.uk Username: payandgo Password: password Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondar DNS: 0.0.0.0 IP Address: 0.0.0.0 Proxy Connections: o2 WAP Proxy Connect from: The internet Connect to: WAP network Proxy: 193.113.200.195:8080 Type: http Username: blank Password: blank Then data connections set as: Internet connection: o2gprs Work connection: Automatic WAP connection: o2gprs Secure WAP connection: o2 MMS This seems to work on my friends phone but obviously i've done something wrong. If anyone can suggest where i'm going wrong I would greatly appreciate it!! Edited March 12, 2006 by Tommo_Smart
Guest agent.m Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Hi guys!!! Just 2 pieces of advise/facts with this o2 PAYG 1: you have to choose if you want mms or internet. They say you cant have both 2: I know from experience and for the love of trying that there are times when the internet just wont work. so if you get "page not found" message its probably not you settings. I got my internet to work on my new c550 a few months back and it worked for a while then it stopped working. I tried it one day last week was fine. then i tried it again a few hours later it didnt work.
Guest zahid123 Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 plz can som1 give me the correct setting for my spv c550 because i have tried the above settings but it wont work. plz can som1 help me.
