I just received my SPV M500 a few days ago and it seems to be playing up. Although the battery is fully charged it sometimes decides to turn itslef off and you cant turn it back on. The light at the top continues to flash regularly but its impossible to turn it back on using the power button. even the soft reset and hard reset dont work it doesnt boot up! i've tried removing the battery and then doing a reset and that worked once, but on the latest time its dies (3rd time in 2 days) none of those tricks work. i know its not the battery as its almost fully charged...

i think its a faulty unit so will get it changed, the power button doesnt feel like its stuck as it clicks nicely but thats one possible reason that could cause this. theres no new software or anyhting like that...

thanks

Hi,

Is the power meter telling the truth?, and you do have a flat battery, try plugging the charger in when it won't switch on, leave it for a few minutes and try switching it on with the charger working.

I am having the same problem. I bought my M500 a few days ago and the power button doesn't do what the manual says. Push and hold turns backlight off (manual syas push and hold turns phone off). Press power button to turn pda off, but leave phone on says the manual, but in real life, press the button and the whole thing turns off. Yes, the battery is fully charged.

My battery was fully charged, i left it for maybe an hour (not doing anything, so power not being wasted) and when i came back to it, it was off. So, i pressed the POWER BUTTON and nothing. I held it down for 5 secs, nothing. I took the battery out, put it back in and pressed the button, nothing. I plugged in the charger, left it charging for 10 mins, pressed the power button, nothing. I did a soft reset and bingo, it came back on.

It seems that the only way i can switch my phone back on after not using it for say an hour, is by doing a soft reset!!

Anyone got any ideas, before i send it back?

Phil
