Guest Duddyroar Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Is there anyway of saving/backing up all of your phones settings? I've got an SPV C500 and I've had to hard reset it a few times, I'm using an O2 sim (it stays unlocked after a reset thankfully) but it's a pain in the arse having to input all the GPRS/MMS settings manually everytime. Plus there's all the other settings I've altered (profiles, shortcuts, etc) and installed programs. Is there anyway of creating a backup that can be stored on my PC and synced to the phone whenever I happen to hard reset?
Guest Bikerboy Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Hi all, I have exactely the same question as this below. I'd really like to back up all the customisation settings I've used - any ideas? Is there anyway of saving/backing up all of your phones settings? Guest WMF Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Hi all, I have exactely the same question as this below. I'd really like to back up all the customisation settings I've used - any ideas? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There are a couple of commercial backup progs for Smartphones - http://www.smartphone.net/software_detail....eid=279&id=1573 http://www.smartphone.net/software_detail....eid=279&id=1481 I've not used either of these programs and they are a little sketchy in the description as to whether they just back up the usual files and data or the actual settings as well. The Sunnysoft program has a free trial so you could try it out and see if it does what you ask.
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I use Sprite. It backs up everything and is a lifesaver in an emergency :o

Guest lardy Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 I have just used the sunnysoft backup trial, and for some reason at the end of backing up my phone reset... and windows then said it didnt recognise my USB device. I reset windows... installed the ROM update on my C500 and then when i restored the backup file, it gets all the way through, and then RIGHT at the end says. "error, corrupt backup file!" GREAT... although i go through my phone and everything is actually restored, so not too bothered. BUT my text messages aren't there!! That was the single thing i assumed would be fine, but i still have the .bkp file that sunnysoft created. Basically my question is... I checked out the 'messaging' folder inside the windows directory... (is this where txts are stored?) and there were loads of files that i can only assume are my texts!? I am wondering why my phone wont recognise the fact that the txts are on my phone? Is there a registry setting that needs changing? Thanks for ANY help from anyone! Cheers
