Guest bluesmudge Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Right, i have had a couple of replacement c500's from orange this week. first one becuase of an in-call problem where people couldn't hear me. I tracked this problem to being caused by the use of headphones / incar tape thingy. replaced no problem 3 days later the phone gets stuck in headset profile, then randomly switches back to normal profile, and back again - so today i get another replacement. BUT the replacement has the last UK ROM on it which though came as a surprise to me, now i need your opinion - is this problem related in anyway to the new rom? i can't see a reason why it would be, but i could be missing something - AND would anyone else bother putting the new ROM on the phone?
Guest Confused Stu Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Most of the headset-type problems stem from the metal switch inside sticking, so couldn't possibly be related to what ROM is on the phone. I have to admit that I would definitely change the ROM because (IMHO) WMP10 is a vast, vast improvement on WMP9 and I would also not be able to handle knowing there is an upgrade available for Little Stewie that I hadn't got. Here endeth the speech from the update freak! :)

As for the upgrades, I know what you mean, although I havent installed WM2K5 on my C500 yet! ;) Edited August 13, 2005 by jamesb
