Guest kwyjibo Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Firstly - Yes I do know you can set your profile to automatic and it will change between normal and meeting. Secondly - Yes I do know about cyberhorses autoflight software and smartwatcher All that said, I Still need what I would have thought was a fairly basic program to change profiles whenever I want, to whatever I want based on time of day etc. Why is the automatic function no good? Because it is a calender entry so if I create a fake meeting to set the phone to silent during the night my calendar tells me about it all day unless there is something else on the calendar. I want a clean calendar. Why I dont use autoflight? It is too much. I don't want a talking clock and I don't want any of the other overhead, the profile switching seems to be a side function of this program. The other options I have found are smartwatcher which I am not going to purchase (forced donation) after reading from many people that it doesn't work. And has no demo I could find. or Xbar using the cron functions which I think is a bit of hack. A previous post by CodesRaider suggested he was making such an application but I could not find any follow up from him about it in this forum. So my question really is does this application exist and I just missed it? or am I missing something else? Thanks.
Guest leobg Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I am looking for the very same thing. Anyone?
Guest Wombleuk Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I guess you could ask Maniac if he would modify his Cellprofileswitcher to have a time-based option. He's a very nice bloke and may accomodate you.

Guest maniac103 Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 To not make hope: I won't include such a thing in CellProfileSwitcher. The reason for this is simple: It simply does not suit at all in the application concept and thus would need large code structure changes which I do not have time for. Additionally, I do not know how to include such a feature into the config tool in a way that makes sense.
Guest turtleman Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 To not make hope: I won't include such a thing in CellProfileSwitcher. Hi Maniac, any chance we can get you to write that small app from scratch? Should be easy for you and if you have nothing to take care for, you can start it the way you would want it to be like. Plain and simple, something like every day, switch my profile to silent at 23:00 and back to normal at 07:00... That would be great!
Guest conan_troutman Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) city times alarms beta 2.0 has the abilty you ask for built in previous versions did not but as it the best alarm program out there you should buy it and you can try the beta as it is downloadable here on modaco in the smartphone news section. be warned though the nenu system is about to get a revamo as the current one is a lil user unfriendly but not to the point it useless just a lil akward at first. ps auotflight is what is use it is a briliant peice of software not only can you set defined times to change the prifile but you can add special text to the subject bar of calendar to change the profile for that particular appointment so if your at the game you can put in the subject bar football #l# and when the appointment starts it goes to loud you should defo try the beta for 4.1 of autoflight it is truly a must have and it is the main feature of the program the speaking clcok is the side feature trust me it rocks Edited June 28, 2006 by conan_troutman
Guest leobg Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I agree Autoflight is a good program with very useful features. However about the profiles I was looking for something much simplier (and easier to use) - everyone knows Nokia timed profiles - that's what I really miss on my smartphone - set profile, define expiration time at which profile will be back to the one before the new timed profile was set. Is it difficult to be implemented?
Guest conan_troutman Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 so what your looking for is a count down timer not a set time you could ask autoflights developer to add it i have seen requests added to it already. not sure there is one that does it how you require though
Guest PhatFony Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 I am also looking for a clock/day based profile changer. It seems silly that we can't leave our phone on and have it not ring out loud when we are asleep.

It seems silly that we can't leave our phone on and have it not ring out loud when we are asleep. your way to go is Autoflight. You can setup a schedule that will turn to silent/radio off at the evening and restore it back on on the morning. I was looking for a time countdown based expiring profile - just like the function "timed profile" on Nokia phones. Autoflight can not do this.
Guest PhatFony Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 No freeware? $12 seems like a lot for this small feature. I wouldn't use the other features of Autoflight since I don't travel. So it would be bloatware for me as well.
Guest tempie23 Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 i agree that a piece of software that could do this would be much appreciated, i'm tired of being woken up at 2am when an email comes in because i forgot to set my profile to silent. :) somebody write this please! my girlfriend would be happy also... ;) -tempie23
Guest conan_troutman Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 it has been wriiten it is called autoflight its very bloody good i have used it for ages now and love it its hte first thing I install on every new smart phone
Guest dodding nonkey Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 I find that when I go to sleep, so does my phone - I switch it off!
