Activesync doesn't work!

Hello, everything was going well, I was activesync-ing with no problem via both the usb and bluetooth connections. Then my friend connected his c500 via a guest partnership and now even after removing and reinstalling active sync 3.8 I cannot explore my c500. The active sync window does not appear even though the icon in the icon tray shows a connection. If I do select "explore" by right clicking the following messagre appears...

"Critical communications services have failed to start. Try resetting the mobile device, and then connect again."

Help!
