ICE (In Case of Emergency) Campaign

Hey-ya,

Just wondering if anyone has added ICE to their list of contacts. ICE stands for In Case of Emergency and lists primary contact and other vital information. ICE is used by paramedics in case you get into an accident.

The only problem I see is that for smartphones and pocket PCs, the device is usually locked. I am wondering if there is a program that could enable a button to display this information even though the device is locked.

Did have one, but removed it because it contained my home number, my partners mobile number, and my mums number - so whenever those people called me it came up as "ICE" rather than who it was

If you want the info on your Homescreen (think about it before saying yes) you could just choose a fairly plain Homescreen and create an image with that info on it.

Two posts listing the two problems with ICE. I have removed mine for these two reasons, the phonme lock and ICE dispalying whenever one of the numbers calls - otherwise it's a good idea....

Should have said - one other reason not to bother is that you should be carrying an organ donor card. These list a contact name and number

The medical staff are going to look in your wallet before they start playing with your mobile...

Phone lock seemed an obvious problem so I've added ICE info to the owner notes which come up whenever my M500 is switched on. Not sure what the best compromise is for most phone users though - don't get involved in accidents? :?:

I know this is a phone forum and everything, and I love my gadgets (the wife can confirm that) but not everything has to be done on your phone!

What's wrong with a good ol' fashioned tattoo? As long as you don't move house too often I guess :)

In profile change the name/number to ice and a contact number, this will stay on the screen even when the mobile is locked.

Or how about getting a bit of paper, cut it to around credit-card size, and put your ICE details on that?

Stick it in your wallet or purse, job done.

As chucky.egg said, the first thing they'll probably do is check in your wallet or purse to find our your name.
