Ok so now I have read quite alot on this HTC Magician and I am versy interested.

Now there are many variants of this i-Mate Jam, Qtek S100, MDA Compact, XDA Mini & SPV M500.

Currently I am with Orange with the C500, I dont want to spend loads on a new phone (free is prefered :))

I see a few people getting free upgrade to the M500.

As there a many variants which one is the best?

what does each variant have thats different, ofcourse I can research this but mybe someone here already knows?

I dont mind what network I am on, as I have been on all of them at some point, and each one I get the same good reception and quality of service.

Purely on looks alone I'd say the Orange M500 is the best looking. The darker casing makes it look less plasticy.

Well for me anyway.

Thanks for that :)

Just thought of another question, the C500 charges via the USB cable (as well as the mains) does the M500 do the same?

Yep, the C500 chargers work in my M500 (haven't tried the car charger yet, but don't see why it wouldn't work)

As for variants - they're all about the same except some Jam's have 128Mb instead of 64Mb.

TBH, if you don't install all the Orange junk after a Hard Reset, you get plenty of memory for most things anyway, so I'm not sure there's much advantage

As for me, I like the looks of M500 a little better than the original JAM. It feels quite well put together, especially after a C500

Looks like I will get the M500 then, first I will have to physically try it out at an orange shop just to be sure.

Anyway still 2 months left on my contract so its going to be a little wait.

Thanks for all your help !! :)
