Guest alextgreen Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Having exhausted all known knowledge on the subject - how do I make TomTom Navigator 5 see a bluetooth GPS reciever? The MDA sees and partners the unit fine, but TomTom never detects it, 'No GPS device' - I've tried all the different reciever settings (and renaming), the 5.1 patch etc. Not even TomTom GPS can see it. Has a radio patch been released or some other firmware update? I'm about ready to throw the whole lot in the bin, I cannot get the two to work! Save a distraut fellow a lot of stress???
Guest spangelsaregreat Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Hi, I have MDA Compact and I am using TT5 with no problems. What com port are you using? When you initially pair the device it should tell you what com port it is attached to (mine is 5). Maybe you don't have the correct one set up within Tom Tom. I know some people have also had issues with TT5 when they have another program that uses your GPS device. There is a solution on Howard Forums for this. That said I run Memory Map also along side TT5 and it works flawlessly. If you maybe want to post a step by step of how you are going about setting it up we may be able to point out anywhere you are maybe going wrong. Regards

Genuine TT bluetooth reciever (my brother's) worked perfectly first time round. We got a brief signal out of the cheap eBay reciever on his girlfriend's PDA but general consensus was that they're just poop and going back. Ordered myself a brand spankers TT5 part for 80 quid :)

Maybe yours was a faulty model. My one also charges in the car. Regards
