TMobile SDA + Copilot GPS with Tomtom

I have a c500 with tomtom installed and it works fine. A friend of mine has a tmobile sda with copilot installed and the copilot GPS unit and that works fine.

He would like to try tomtom so I put my sd card in his phone, tomtom starts up ok but it cannot find the copilot gps unit. We have added the gps unit into the list of bluetooth devices and it still doesnt work.

I can connect to and use the copilot gps unit from my c500 so we know its not a problem with tomtom and the unit.

Anyone have any ideas why tomtom on an sda cannot connect to a copilot gps unit?
