Guest digital_dezines Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 I'm sure i read somewhere that if you upgrade to the new rom 4.2.1.1 on the SPV C500, you could use Mp3 as ringtone  I would be eternally grateful if someone could point me in the right direction for a solution, i've looked in the posts but to no avail HEEEEEEEEEELLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!!

Guest digital_dezines Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Thanks cold, i have tried both Mp3 & wma. Only wav works and that takes mucho memory. am i putting them in the wrong place (storage/application data/sounds) or should they go somewhere else. Also, not sure on everyone elses view on MP10 but i prefered the other version, i found it easier to navigate

Guest jph Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 do you have betaplayer installed, i had problems getting mp3's to work until i went into betaplayer and removed it's file association to mp3's, they now work fine. :)
Guest b0bby Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 (edited) yeh im trying to do SMS iv sorted it now, via reg. HKCU/Control Panel/Sounds/SMS/ string: Sound in value just put the complete location of the Mp3 (not tested with wma) so for mine iv got, \Storage\Application Data\Sounds\mysmstone.mp3 btw, if you go into the sounds menu and change anything, it will over write the above reg entry, so ull have to do the above again. Guest digital_dezines Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Hi Guys/Gyals, soz for the delay in reply, PC problems, Anyway I have now got the Mp3's working as ringtones and wma, however i cant get them to work with SMS either just calls, the only 1 thats works is wav, I dont see this as a prob really as an SMS alert tone only needs to be 1 second so it don't take much space. It would be nice if orange on the next rom update included this function, for the moment it's not a prob for me, dunno about anyone else?
