M2000 keyboard - keeps reverting to upper case

I mainly use the touch screen keyboard for entering text. I press "shift" and the keyboard goes to lower case. I type one letter and the keyboard reverts to caps. how do I get the keyboard to stay on lower case and only put in caps those letters I want in caps?

The thumb press keyboard is also a nightmare for me. how do I get it to use a mix of caps and lower case when I want this??
