Qtek S110 Bluetooth Issues

Hi yup I'm new to the board so big hello to you all!

I just took delivery of the S110 last night and overall I'm more than happy with the little chappie, but I do have an issue with its bluetooth connectivity and wonderd if anyone else has experience or knows of a sollution etc.

My problem is that I am unable to connect any DUN, OBEX file transfer connections, headsets or serial com ports. The BT stack is 1.2 so should be OK but it seems that the bluetooth software onboard lacks 90% of the functions as compaired to my previous PPC & WM2003 devices (ipaq2210 & Loox720). Its not a pairing issue, but seems that the Qtek S110 doesn't offer these 'standard sevices', Does anyone know if there is a rom update available ?

There is no update. The Magician bluetooth stack / software is piss poor compared to the widcomm stack / software that other devices use.

@rmg

absolutely!!! couldnt have put it better myself!

forgive the thread-hijack, but is it possible to have a third party bluetooth manager app that overcomes the problems or are the properties the device lacks at a more fundamental level and no amount of software will make me happy?

Well I'm glad that it isn't just me having problems with bluetooth. Over at xda-developers it was suggested that the toshiba bluetooth stack / software works (a bit) and I can confirm this, yes it works but unfortunately its about as stable as a wobbly thing and dies on a soft reset. I'm looking to see if its a registry problem, so I'll keep you posted.

Cheerio

I have the exact same problem as well. Other types of ppc's seem to have more tabs in the bluetooth screen than the qtek s110 which is very depressing as I cannot seem to connect with bluetooth to my pc :)

Is there any way to upgrade the software to have the same features as other windows ppc's?

At the moment I don't think so :)

But if you use the 'Beam File' function (as if you were to IR a file) to another device, bluetooth devices will be found (thanks Mrs B!)

I'm glad to have solved the Bluetooth beaming and headphone issues but I'm even more excited now that my QTek has shipped. It was good practice ironing out rwb's issues, now I'll know what to do with mine!
